What is Children in Action?

Children in Action (CiA) is a coed missions organization for children in grades 1-6.

-The leaders of CiA are called directors.

-The members of CiA are called agents.

-Units are designed in weekly lessons.

-The weekly stories emphasize a monthly missions topic.

-Instructions include ideas and activity sheets to reinforce weekly lessons with various means of creative play (games, crafts, drama, etc.).

-Activity pages are provided at the end of each unit.

-The weekly lessons are designed to be 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes in length.

-Each unit builds toward the last week of the month when children are involved in a ministry project called Live Action.

-Ideas for Live Action projects are given each month in Missions MatchFile, plus directors

are given directions for helping agents prepare for the project.

-Suggestions for Scripture memorization are included in each unit.

-Missionary Kids (MKs) are the focus for the weekly prayer calendar. Children learn about

the work of the parents from the child’s perspective.

CiA uses the same yearly emphasis that GA and other WMU organizations use, but plans for
CiA curriculum are developed separately. So, the overall yearly emphasis should be similar
between WMU organizations, but the actual topics or missionaries will vary from month
to month.

Extreme Team

Unity Baptist Church invites you to join the CiA as we begin our Extreme Team.
This year we will learn about extreme sports and missionaries who use sports to
tell others about Jesus. This fall we will study missionaries and sports in Peru,
Brazil, and NASCAR racetracks. Join our Extreme Team - Wednesday, September 7th!
Call Sissy King at 879-2545 for more information.
